Event 38 Unmanned Systems Inc. is growing quickly, with hundreds of sales in 49 countries. The Business Journal reports that the drones made by Event 38, based in Akron, Ohio, play an important role in agriculture, especially for tech-saavy farmers.
Drones manufactured by Event 38 can be operated from smartphones. Instead of relying on the appearance of crops visible from the road, drones can help farmers get a better look at crops elsewhere in their fields with the use of a drone’s normalized differential vegetation index camera (NDVI).
Some farmers feel that the drone will be an indispensable farm tool in the future, much like the plow and tractor.
