HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania has named twenty-five individuals to regional development committees organized in five regions within Pennsylvania. The committee members’ charge is to build momentum for the center foundation and share its vision with potential contributors and benefactors across the state.
Dairy future
“We are tremendously excited to have these individuals, all who are passionate about dairy’s future and developing that next generation, working on behalf of the center foundation,” said John Frey, executive director of the Center for Dairy Excellence. “We are hoping that they will help give our foundation the legs it needs to fulfill on its mission of investing in tomorrow today.”
The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization created to support educational initiatives that grow and sustain the Pennsylvania dairy industry.
Contributions
The foundation provides the opportunity for individuals and organizations to make tax-deductible contributions to support educational initiatives within Pennsylvania’s dairy industry. Since launched in 2010, the Center Foundation has delivered on its commitment to the future of Pennsylvania’s dairy industry by offering scholarships, hosting dairy tours and delivering a full-fledged dairy business curriculum for high school level students.
Individuals were named to five regional development committees. Several local farmers and agriculture professionals were named in the Farm and Dairy circulation area:
Northwest Regional Development Committee:
· Richard Kind, Slippery Rock, Butler County
· Steve Paxton, Grove City, Mercer County
· Brooks Rynd, Cochranton, Crawford County
· Paula Meabon, Wattsburg, Erie County
Southwest Regional Development Committee:
· Rick Ebert, New Alexandria, Westmoreland County
· Rick Allen, Smock, Fayette County
· Sam and Bev Minor, Washington, Washington County
· Chuck Turner, Penn Hills, Allegheny County
Each of these individuals are available to answer questions about the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation, its work and the support it will provide to Pennsylvania’s dairy industry.
