OTTAWA, Ohio — Ohio Farmers Union will educate young people about renewable energy in the 2008 Cooperative Youth Day Camps to be held across Ohio.
The camp program is free and open to the general public as well as Ohio Farmers Union young people. The union will offer educational activities that teach campers about wind and solar energy as well as biofuels in conjunction with conservation and efficiency.
Theme
The camp, themed Fueling the Future With Renewable Energy, is open to campers in first through eighth grades.
The schedule is as follows:
— July 8: Ottawa, Ohio (Putnam County) at the YMCA (afternoon activities available for registered attendees). Advance registration by parent or guardian is required by July 2; limited to the first 50 children. Registration is 8-8:30 a.m.; pick-up is 4:30-5 p.m.
— July 15: Wilmington, Ohio (Clinton County) at the Clinton County Extension office. Registration is 8-8:30 a.m.; Pick-up is 4:30-5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

— July 16: Bowling Green, Ohio (Wood County) at the Otsego Stone Hall. Advance registration by a parent or guardian is required by July 9. This camp includes a tour of Wind Farm in Bowling Green. Registration is 9 a.m.; Pick-up is 4:30-5 p.m.
— July 23: Colebrook, Ohio (Ashtabula County) at the Colebrook Community Center. Registration is 8-8:30 a.m.; pick-up is 4:30-5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

— July 29: Coshocton, Ohio (Coshocton County) at the 4-H Building at the county fairgrounds. Registration is 8-8:30 a.m.; pick-up is 4:30-5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
