Bethany College announces equine program open house

BETHANY, W.Va. — The Bethany College Equine Studies and Social Work Programs will host an open house March 26 for high school juniors and seniors.

The event is designed to introduce students and their families to Bethany’s programs and facilities that can prepare them for a successful equine career.

Majors offered

The Equine Studies Program at Bethany College features majors in equine management and pre-veterinary medicine, as well as social work with an Equine-Facilitated Therapy Certificate. A minor in equine studies is also available.

The open house is also open to students interested in the riding program but planning to major in other fields, including biology, business, chemistry, communications and education.

Information. Reservations are required, and the event will begin at 9 a.m. Activities will include facilities tours, workshops and demonstrations. Participants will meet academic instructors and coaches of the Dressage, Hunt Seat and Western teams.

The registration deadline is Feb. 19 for a maximum of 30 students. Priority will be given to those who complete a Bethany College application.
