– Owner/auctioneer Pete Howes of Bloomfield Livestock Auction experienced something very rare at his Feb. 28 special draft horse and draft pony auction in Bloomfield, Ohio — there were zero no-sales, which means each of the 107 horses sold.

Howes explained that this is very unusual and in all the years he’s been in the business, it had never occurred at one of his auctions.

The top-selling horses were a team of Belgian geldings that went for $3,100 each for a total of $6,200.

A single Belgian gelding sold for $2,600.

– Auctioneers Orus Mast and Curt Yoder of Dave Kaufman Realty Inc., called the Sixth Annual Mid Ohio Equipment Consignment Auction Feb. 28 in Mt. Hope, Ohio, with approximately 400 bidders participating.

The top-selling item was a Knuckleboom loader which went for $64,000.

Other highlights included a Timber King for $17,000 and a log trailer for $6,750.

Yoder also called the Austin farm auction for Dave Kaufman Realty, Inc. on Feb. 27 in Coshocton, Ohio, where the top-selling item was a John Deere 4430 tractor which brought $9,000.

A Featherlite livestock trailer sold for $7,700.

Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company Inc. held a land auction March 2 in Wilmington, Ohio, of 190 acres in one tract, which included 177 acres of prime tillable land and 13 acres of wooded land.

Auctioneer Nick Cummings called the sale and the tract sold for $780,006.

Bob Graber Auctioneer of Orrville, Ohio, held an auction for Ethan Lehman, trustee for the Clarence Gerber family trust Feb. 28 in Kidron, Ohio.

The top-selling item was a 2001 Chevy S10 pickup truck which brought $5,800.

Other highlights included a Seth Thomas clock that went for $500; a Bucher and Gibbs, of Canton, Ohio, dinner bell that sold for $425 and an Edison cylinder tabletop phonograph went for $425.

Graber said the 90-plus arrowheads offered at the sale brought lots of attention. The top-selling arrowhead went for $180.
