– Basinger Auction Service Ltd. of North Lima, Ohio, held a household auction March 9 in Greenford, Ohio. Following two days of record rainfall, the auction was held on a dry pleasant day with 128 registered bidders and a crowd of more than 200 attending.
The top-selling item was a Kubota 4 WD diesel tractor that sold for $2,850.
Other highlights included a 1998 Chevy Blazer with 150,000 miles for $2,250; an Allis Chalmers B-40 diesel tractor for $2,200; a Club Car golf cart with canopy for $1,350; a Honda ATV Fourtrax 4-wheeler for $825; a Cub Cadet 1440 tractor for $600; a Husqvarna 5 HP rototiller for $525 and a Woods rotary finish mower for $200.
Top-selling furniture pieces included a camel back floral sofa, like new, for $275; a Lane rocker-recliner, like new, for $210; an oak chest of drawers for $160; an oak washstand for $150 and an oak kitchen table with six Windsor back chairs for $165.
Appliances sold included a Roper washer and dryer for $250 and a Roper refrigerator for $130.
– Matthew Hostetter of Hostetter Auctioneers, Beaver Falls, Pa., called a residential auction Jan. 31. The sale was held in Patterson Township, Beaver Falls, Pa., with 99 registered bidders.
The real estate included a brick home on a private street with four bedrooms, three full baths and 1.5 stall garage and sold for $120,000.
A stainless steel refrigerator finally sold for $1,300 after some intense competitive bidding.
Hostetter said the furniture brought in more than expected, as the couch received $800.
– Garner Auctioneers LLC of Carrollton, Ohio, held a farm toy auction March 7 in Carrollton with 116 registered bidders.
Many of the original farm toys were favorites of the crowd. This auction had many precision pieces that brought the sellers more money than expected.
The top-selling farm toy was an International TD-25 which sold for $375. This item is a very rare piece, as there were only a few in the color red.
Other highlights included an original Oliver baler for $310; a display case with 4 Allis Chalmers for $250; an original Oliver 1-row corn picker for $250; an original Euclid bottom dump by Doepke for $150; a precision classics Waterloo Boy tractor for $140; a Jaeger mixer by Doepke for $135; a JD 7520 restored for $135; a Doepke Jaguar for $135; a 1938 GMC car carrier by Danbury Mint for $130; a Heiliner pan by Doepke for $125; an Allis Chalmers 7045 for $110; an Oliver Cockshutt 550 Liberty by Speccast for $105; a homemade JD hay loader for $105; an original JD 620 Mamod steam tractor made in England for $ 95 and a 1958 Farmall 460 pulling tractor for $80.
