MILLERSBURG, Ohio — The West Holmes FFA Team A placed second in the FFA division of the 29th annual Junior Dairy Management Contest Sept. 15, during 2015 All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg. The West Holmes Team B finished ninth.
In the competition, participants evaluated two classes of dairy cattle, identified feeds, recognized cuts of meat and answered questions about reproduction and business management. Six different timed classes were used to evaluate contestants.
The five highest scoring individuals were then interviewed about current dairy issues before the final placing was made.

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — Hillsdale FFA students attended the county soils contest at Halls Family Farm, also known as Valley Vista, Sept. 16.
The rural contest team consisted of Calvin Hord, Bob Merchant, Kaylee Cline, Cheyanne Adams, Adam Cutlip and top five participants, Mathew Way, Luke Summerfield, Taylor Rebman, Madison Heller and Katie Mager, will compete at the district contest Oct. 6.
The urban team included Alana Stamen, Adrianne McPhillips, Joshua Davis, Ryan Markley, Summer Frost, and Laci Charez.
