Hump Daaaaayyyyy!! It’s Wednesday, kids! My circle of friends and I call it, “Margarita Wednesday.” Guess why?

thumbprint cookiesThere was a conversation about where we could get the best margarita a few weeks ago. Ever since we’ve been going to different restaurants and ‘gathering research’ so to speak. This effort made me think about food critics and judges in general. I want to be the one who judges the baking contests at the fairs this summer. Oh, snap!

That’s how we came up with this week’s Around The Table theme: Contest Winning Recipes.

slice of peach pieHave you ever entered any of your creations into a contest? Pies, cakes, cookies, breads — there’s a category for just about anything you want to make. I’ve never entered anything, but if I did, I’d enter the Sour Cherry Pie that I shared with y’all last week.

If you’re thinking about which recipe you’d enter into competition, check out the rules and regulations, and different categories available for competition at The Ohio State Fair http://ohiostatefair.com/ or the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs http://www.pafairs.org/

1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place ribbonsSince I love cookies with all of my heart and soul, I feel like you should make some. Check out these winning cookie recipes from the 2015 Ohio State Fair.

Go make something awesome,
Jen
