The dates for Ohio's 2021 fair season have been confirmed. Find them all here.

A bill intended to update fair rules and help Ohio fairs work around budget challenges and update state law about fairs and amusement rides recently passed the state legislature.

Amid an intense election day and rising COVID-19 cases, two Ohio state senators introduced a bill seeking to overturn a July 30 health director order that limited fairs to junior fairs only.

Either Ohio's fairs go on, in some form or another. Or they don’t. Either way, Rebecca Miller says Ohio’s youth deserves clarity.

The 2020 Paulding County Fair is canceled, due to safety concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. The senior and junior fair boards, with the county health department and commissioners, made the decision in a May 11 virtual meeting. 

As the 2020 fair season gets closer, no one seems to know what that season is going to look like, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For now, fairs remain in limbo.

As 4-H events are canceled and postponed in response to COVID-19, fair officials are taking a wait and see approach to the 2020 fair season.

Five individuals and a group each received the Director’s Award for Innovation and Excellence from the Ohio Department of Agriculture for their ideas and actions to improve local fairs.

Still, as a place were top produce growers and pie makers earn blue ribbons, county fairs have morphed into wild rides, fried anything and unique contests.

The Harrison County, Ohio, junior livestock sale was June 29, starting at 1 p.m. Nearly 500 lots were sold by 4-H and FFA members.
