The Columbiana County Fair's livestock auction brought in $1.3 million on Aug. 1 and 3, 2024.

The Myers family will also be honored, and Myers’ framed portrait and biographical sketch will be unveiled during the ceremony July 30 at 10:30 a.m.

The late Harold J. Thompson, of Wayne Township, and Harold A. Windram, of Salem Township, will be enshrined in the Columbiana County Agriculture Hall of Fame for their contributions to agriculture and the greater Columbiana County community.

The Columbiana and Carroll county fairs are some of the latest Ohio fairs to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ohio Pork Council announced that all pigs shown at the Ohio State Fair this year must be ractopamine-free. The product is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and is used in feed to increase pigs’ lean growth rates. The new requirement is not related to health risks, but to trade.
