LISBON, Ohio – The Columbiana County Buckeye Dairy Boosters recently sponsored a poster contest in the county’s sixth grade classes. There were over 720 students that participated from 12 area schools.
The theme of the contest was “June is Dairy Month.” The club picked a first and second-place winner from each school and an overall grand-prize winner.
The grand-prize winner was Katie Zehnder from Mrs. Milajecki’s class at St. Aloysius in East Liverpool.
Zender’s entry was transformed into a placemat that will be distributed to area restaurants to promote “June is Dairy Month.”
All students received participation gifts and the first and second-place winners received a “Drink Milk” T-shirt or sweatshirt.
Zender received a sweatshirt, T-shirt and backpack.
The Dairy Boosters will be displaying the winning entries from each school at the Columbiana County Fair.
