CANTON, Ohio – A new McKinley Museum exhibit features patriotic and flag-inspired artifacts, including a red, white and blue dress from the 1850s.
The annual holiday open house will be held Nov. 30, from 6-8 p.m. Guest admission is $5, members are admitted free.
A holiday tree and wreath in the lobby continue the patriotic theme. The entire museum is decorated for the season.
Many of the historic settings in the Street of Shops have trees which reflect the theme or era of the exhibit. The three ‘islands’ of Discover World are especially ‘dressed’ as well.
The McKinley Museum Auxiliary will provide refreshments; music will be performed by the McKinley High School Choir; Dick Daniels will read “The Night Before Christmas,” and Santa Claus will make an appearance.
Help feed the hungry by bringing a nonperishable food item to the open house which will be donated to the Ohio Hunger Task Force of Canton.
The McKinley Museum is located at 800 McKinley Monument Dr., N.W., adjacent to the McKinley National Memorial. Call 330-455-7043.
