URBANA, Ohio – Four members of the 2001 OSU Poultry Judging Team won eight top 10 team and individual honors at the 54th annual Southern Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest in Baton Rouge, La.
Team members included seniors Beth Souder (Winchester, Ohio) and Lyn Semple (Seaman, Ohio), junior Luke Rhonemus (West Union, Ohio), and sophomore Danyelle Dauch (Bellevue, Ohio).
The team finished in a tie for third in the production birds competition; sixth in market products; seventh in overall composite score; and eighth in breed selection.
Individual honors.
Individually, Souder tied for third in production birds, Semple was tied for 10th in production birds, and Dauch finished in a 10th-place tie in the same category.
The host school was LSU and the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association served as the contest sponsor.
The LSU event was the final event for members of The Ohio State University Poultry Judging Team this season.
Coach for the team is Larry Lokai of Urbana, Ohio, who is in his third year as team coach.
