CARROLLTON, Ohio – Deer damage to crops is a serious problem faced by crop and tree farmers in Carroll County.
Fee-access, or lease hunting, is one method being explored by some landowners to reduce the deer population and increase farm income at the same time.
Carroll County Farm Bureau and the Carroll County Office of Ohio State University Extension are joining forces to educate landowners about the potential benefits of lease hunting.
Workshop. An evening workshop on the topic will be held Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carrollton High School Cafeteria.
Workshop presenters include Mike Hogan, OSU Extension educator and Ron Carlton of Carlton Tree Farms.
Reservations are not required to participate in the workshop, and refreshments will be served, compliments of the Carroll County Farm Bureau Government Affairs Committee.
