YOUNGSTOWN – The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is having its annual Fall Open House Nov. 3-4 and Nov. 10-11. It is one of the largest model railroad displays in Ohio.
And this year the display will include a demonstration of exactly how a model railroad is constructed.
The association is in the process of making major renovations of the club’s HO scale model layout. A complete steel mill and its track work are in the process of being built. Work will continue on laying it out during the open house.
Two complete displays, an 0 scale and the smaller H0 scale models will be running. A special scenery workshop will be presented each Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Open house hours on 1-9 p.m. Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. The Model Railroad Association club is located at the corner of Raccoon Road and Four Mile Run Road in Austintown.
A donation of $2 per person is requested. Children under 12 with a family member are free.
