SALEM, Ohio – A year ago, owners were looking for their saddles. Now saddles are in need of their owners.
Last February horse owners were filing police reports, saying saddles worth as much as $825 were stolen from their stables.
Within weeks, a suspect was located and 16 saddles were recovered, said Portage County detective Ed Kennedy.
But five Western saddles still haven’t been claimed, Kennedy said.
Now Kennedy asks anyone in Portage, Geauga, Tuscarawas, Ashtabula or surrounding counties who thinks they could have also been victimized, to come forward.
The saddles were stolen prior to March 2003, he said. Other information about the saddles is not being released.
For more information, call Kennedy at the Portage County detective bureau at 330-297-3890.
