LISBON, Ohio – The 34th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival is set for Sept. 20-23 at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds in Lisbon, Ohio.
Four parades. Four parades are planned during the festival. A pet and youth parade sponsored by The Lisbon Veterinary Clinic is 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Friday is Emergency Services Day at the festival and will feature a parade at 6 p.m. Fire trucks, ambulances and police cars will be on display.
The festival’s grand parade is 6 p.m. Sept. 22.
An antique car parade and display at the north end of the midway are planned for 4 p.m. Sept. 22.
All parade entries are asked to preregister.
Other events. Crowning of the Little Miss Apple Bud and Little Mr. Apple Bud will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday following the parade.
There will be a dog show and exhibit on Thursday at 5 p.m. on the midway.
The Five Mile Challenge will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. Preregister by mail or on the day of the race from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. A form can be downloaded from the festival’s Web site at www.geocities.com/j_a_festival/.
A quilt show will be held during the festival. The quilt auction will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Sunday.
The kids and teens fun and games will be held on Saturday in front of the stage at 2:30 p.m. Senior fun and games will be held at 3:30 p.m.
Tractor pulls. A garden tractor pull is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a hit and miss engine show is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
An antique tractor pull is set from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday.
Musical acts are scheduled for each evening at 8 p.m. on both the north and south stages.
