SALEM, Ohio – The Salem Historical Society is planning a local exhibit of the works of the local artist, Perry Calvin.
Calvin contributed to the Salem community during his life, doing oil and watercolor painting of local interest. From 1946 to 1976, he contributed to over 24 art shows throughout the state.
In 1952, the Town Crier was first used to ‘alert’ the newspaper reader of the athletic results of the night before.
The historical society is collecting information that can be used in this upcoming exhibit.
Any with information or items that can be included, should call the historical society at 330-337-8514.
