Guild of Ohio Dollmakers to have its day at state fair

COLUMBUS – The Guild of Ohio Dollmakers will sponsor “Ohio Dollmakers Day” at the Ohio State Fair Aug. 11.

The “Ohio Dollmakers Day” will be Aug. 11 and will include a variety of demonstrations from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. A themed competition will take place on this day.

Also, Sonja Bryer, who has designed dolls for such famous individuals as Ashton Drake and Marie Osmond, will demonstrate sculpting and will be available to answer any doll sculpting questions.

Thirty members currently make up the Guild of Ohio Dollmakers and they educate the public on what it takes to make a doll. The guild is for all dollmakers, whether they wish to make dolls for family or friends, or even commercially.

A showcase featuring original dolls made by the members of the guild will be displayed at the DiSalle Arts and Crafts Building during the entire state fair (Aug. 3-19).
