Dailey taps Buchy as assistant director

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – Ohio Agriculture Director Fred L. Dailey appointed Jim Buchy assistant director.

Buchy will manage the day-to-day operations of the department, formulating, and shaping regulatory policy, and monitoring agricultural legislation.

Buchy joined the department in January as a deputy director. He served from 1983 to 2000 in the Ohio General Assembly, representing Darke and Mercer counties, and held leadership positions of assistant majority floor leader, majority whip, and assistant majority whip in the House of Representatives.

He has also been president of Buchy Food Products in Greenville since 1977. Buchy’s ODA responsibilities do not include the agency’s licensing and inspection of this business or its competitors.
