MENTOR, Ohio – Explore the Victorian decorating trends that inspired the First Lady Lucretia Garfield on a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Garfield home April 12.
This tour, which begins at 2 p.m., does not cover information given on the regular house tour. Guests are encouraged to tour the house at another time for a more involved history.
Tickets are $12 for Western Reserve Historical Society members and $15 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required and there is a limit of 15 people per tour. Call 216-721-5722.
Egg roll. The James A. Garfield National Historic Site, 8095 Mentor Ave., will also host its Easter egg roll April 21.
Participants will learn how the White House tradition began, decorate a wooden egg, and then get ready to roll. A fee will be charged.
