The Niles Historical Society is planning their annual Heritage Day and monthly open house for Sat. Aug. 5 from 12:00-5:00 on the grounds of the Ward-Thomas Museum at 503 Brown St. in Niles. The theme will be “Remembering our Past, Living in the Present, Embracing our Future.” The day will feature displays and demonstrations by local crafters, vendors and artisans including the Dragon Guild. There will be food and raffles along with face painting, children’s games and activities. Local artist Rick Muccio will be doing caricatures. Historical books and items will be available for view and purchase as well as tours of the Ward-Thomas House. The is no entrance fee for this fun filled family event.
