As I passed the gourmet ice cream drive-in, the word was MINT. I’m glad our recipes for this week use green celery. Go ahead and eat something green for St. Patrick’s Day – maybe not because you’re Irish, but just because it’s fun (especially if you have kids or grandkids around.)
Fix green eggs and ham for breakfast. Make some green jello or pistachio pudding. You could even put some green food coloring in fresh bread, rolls, biscuits, or muffins.
Besides our celery dishes, I’ve thrown in a couple “Irish-type” suppers. Don’t forget the easiest celery idea there is – celery pieces spread with cream cheese, peanut butter or another favorite spread.
A good book to go with this, The Celery Stalks At Midnight by James Howe, is a kid’s chapter book that’s a fun little mystery.
