Farmers safe from lawsuits? It’s called blackmail

I just had to respond to the article “Farmers safe from lawsuits if they help with research” (June 17, 2004).

Farmers safe from lawsuits?

Hmmm… Let me see.

I pay the EPA to monitor my land so they can create laws that I will be in violation of.

If I pay, I’m protected from lawsuits from violations of laws that do not exist.

If I don’t I am not protected from lawsuits from violations of laws that do not exist.

They call this “safe harbor”?

In my day, it was called blackmail.
