I make hard-boiled eggs just a few times a year - usually to make deviled eggs; now that my kids are growing up, we haven't taken time to color them for Easter.

Familiar moments float to the surface of my memory pool at Easter time. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying leisure time with the Sunday comics, but I believe my fondness for the funnies traces back to the Easter mornings I spent with Dallas Clapsadle.

At 30, I left the home where I grew up. Though not posh or extravagant, it was a place that afforded more comforts than I could have ever enjoyed on my own.

My love for the look of Fiestaware holds steady over the years, but the only piece I own is a white teapot that I picked up for a buck at our church rummage sale.

My wish came true. In case some of you are cursing my proposition, a week or so ago, that we have some snow, I refuse to take full blame.

"I'm in the mood for blueberry muffins, Mom," Kathie announced to me in mid-morning during a long weekend off school.
