DOVER, Ohio — Trealayne Leader Donatella, a 5-year-old shown by Trealayne Holsteins of Dover, took home the senior champion and grand champion banners at the District III open invitational Holstein show.
The show was held June 21 at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds in Dover. Brian Garrison, sire analyst at Select Sires, judged the 60 head of registered Holsteins.
The champion is owned by Wayne and Steve Specht and family.
Whiteleather Farms, Minerva, Ohio, showed the reserve champion, the second-place 5-year-old, Whiteleather Hi Metro.
Taking intermediate champion honors was Beardsley Morty Email, the winning senior 2-year-old, shown by Beardsley Holsteins, Salem, Ohio.
Reserve intermediate was a senior 3-year-old, San-Mar Factor Scarlet-Red, shown by San-Mar Farms, Tippecanoe, Ohio.
The open show junior champion was Trealayne J-Lou Taylor, the winning spring yearling shown by Trealayne Holsteins.
Beardsley Holsteins showed the reserve junior champion, a winter calf, Beardsley Advent Gingersnap.
Junior show
In the junior show, Ericka Harding of New Philadelphia showed the senior and grand champion, Hardingdale Dramatic Venus. Nathan Steel, Dover, showed the reserve champion, Steam Valley Leduc Glory, the winning junior 2-year-old.
Junior champion in the junior show was the first-place winter calf, Hardingdale Lyndon Eve, shown by Ericka Harding. Renee Harding showed the reserve junior champion, the senior yearling, Hardingdale Promotion Syrup.
Showmanship contest
The morning began with showmanship classes for the youth.
Clay Hershberger won the junior contest, followed by Hannah Dye and Ericka Harding. Bo Harstine won the senior class, with Jonathon Dye, second, and Steven Jordan, third.
The first-place winners received $50 donated by Harold’s Equipment.
