I first spotted the recent fad, a yarn manufacturer’s dream, when sisters entered the Next to New Shop where I work part-time. Each woman sported a brightly colored, fuzzy, boa-type neck wrap (too skimpy to really qualify as a scarf). Instantly, I pictured them around my daughters’ necks, more of the accessory fluff teens go for.
I asked the sister who made them if she took orders, picturing my entire cheerleading squad sporting the “scarfs” made in school colors. She handed me a business card, which suggested her experience as a crafter. Impressed, I started silently totaling the cost to scarf the squad.
