Hazard A Guess: Week of April 1, 2004

Hello from Hazard!

Sean McAllister of Garfield Heights, Ohio, shared the only response to Item No. 705 that we’ve received so far.

And it’s a good thing he’s right, too, or we’d have to continue the mystery!

This strange thing is a mold used to make latex balloons. McAllister has one in the shape of a rabbit, complete with white powdery “stuff” (the buildup of talc powder after many years of use) covering one end.

Hmm. You just never know what will crop up in the Hazard corner!

This week’s item comes from George Timko in Pittsburgh, Pa.

We show the item both open and closed.

I’ve got the patent date to disclose, but I’ll wait until next week to see if we’re stumped.
