Hello from Hazard!
Well, it looked like a meat tenderizer, but an e-mail from Art Boltz sheds new light on Item No. 687.
Boltz says it is a tool used to work on the seams of zeppelins, and adds there is one displayed at the lighter-than-air society in Akron.
Hmmm. Can anyone confirm this new information? That would explain the etched blimp logo on the handle that encloses the word “Akron.”
We were checking to see if you were asleep last week, by giving a duplicate number to our featured item. Last week’s mystery, Item No. 686, really is Item No. 688. But regardless of the number, no guesses came in, so here it is again this week.
