Hazard A Guess: Week of Dec. 6, 2001

Hello from Hazard.

Well, we received two unrelated guesses on Item No. 633. And since we’ve featured the photo for several weeks, we’ll put the responses both on the table and move on.

Debby Schade of Montville, Ohio, says Item No. 633 looks like a spindle to hold spools of weft yarns used in weaving. The loops at the bottom would guide the yard downward off of the spools to keep it from tangling, she adds.

On the other hand, Donell Foust of Van Buren, Ohio, thinks Item No. 633 is simply a swivel wire counter display rack for some packaged goods.

Can anyone confirm either of these guesses? Take a look at last week’s paper to see Item No. 633, or go online to www.farmanddairy.com and click on the “Hazard a Guess” link to see recent photographs.

This week’s item is another item from Troy Pratt of Weirton, W.Va. The tool has three arms that will turn all the way around, and one arm that adjusts up and down. All four arms have hooks on the ends.
