OK, OK! We’ll let you off the hook with Item No. 617, which has you all baffled. Is it a tamper of some kind, wondered one reader? It looks like a one-legged milking stool, guessed another. How about a pony express drop-off pole, e-mailed a Pennsylvania reader, who added “at least now you have a guess.”
Well, Dave Cover of Cortland, Ohio, who shared the item with Hazard, says it’s a farrier’s hoof stand or “stump.” I’m sure you’ll all sleep easier tonight for knowing!
On to Item No. 618, shared by L. Howell of Beach City, Ohio. It measures about 5-6 inches. What do you think it is? I’ll even give you a hint: Within the past six months, we featured another gadget that did the same function as this item, but looked very different. Hmmm.
