80 years ago this week. Murray D. Lincoln, executive
secretary of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, held the undivided
attention of a great audience of Columbiana county farmers at the
annual meeting of the Columbiana County Farm Bureau. He declared that
this is no time for the farmers of America to be divided into small,
selfish groups, but that all must work together in the big job of
lifting agriculture out of the serious depression into which it has
fallen.
County agent C.E. Rowland was given a great ovation when he made his
report detailing the work of the office, much of which is directly
related to the Farm Bureau program. He stated that Liverpool township
is the only county unit not organized. Of the other 17 townships, all
have selected legislative membership, poultry and grain and pure seed
committees; 15 have committees on horticulture; 14 have public
improvement committees; 13 have marketing committees; and two have
taken up drainage.
