ASHLAND, Ohio — The Crestview FFA has a new website, which offers a calendar of upcoming Crestview FFA events, news, picture albums and information on leadership opportunities. SMITHVILLE, Ohio — The Smithville FFA chapter recently collected money from the homeroom classes to use to purchase Christmas gifts for the residents at Every Womens House in Wooster. A total of $258 was collected and used to purchase toys, puzzles, board games, card games, blankets, lotion, candles, stuffed animals and gift cards. FFA members Cortney Miller and Erica Duff lead the project and did the shopping, along with Bobby Joyner and Kolstin Hartzler. The homeroom that collected the most money was Mr. Frizell’s class. The FFA treated them to breakfast pizza for their efforts.

WATERFORD, Ohio — The Waterford FFA Chapter’s parliamentary procedure team recently competed in three contests that led them to becoming the best parliamentary procedure team in the state of Ohio.
Team members include Derek Huck, Katie Wagner, Jessica Coulter, Janice Whalin, Megan Whalin, James Whalin, Blake Campbell, Allison Adams, Katrina Ford and Megan Giffin.
The sub-district contest was held at Alexander High School where the team placed first, received a gold rating and advanced to the district contest, which was held at Marietta High School.
At districts, the team placed second, advancing to the state contest for the 10th year in a row. The state contest was held Dec. 15 at The Ohio State University main campus.
Twenty teams advanced to the state contest out of approximately 200 teams from across Ohio. At state, the team placed first in their heat, advancing to the state finals. In the finals, the team finished first overall, winning the state championship in parliamentary procedure for the second time the chapter’s history.
The team has now advanced to the National FFA Parliamentary Procedure contest next October.
The team will also appear on stage at this year’s 85th Ohio FFA State Convention in May and will be recognized with a first place banner for their accomplishment.
