MILLERSBURG, Ohio — West Holmes FFA held its annual meeting Dec. 10 at the high school.
In new business, members voted to hold officer elections at the February meeting, and to hold junior high recruitment Jan. 24-25. Members also approved the motion to pay $10 of the price for the January fun meeting, and to donate $50 each to the Keith Knowles and Amy Breitenbucher Education Foundation scholarships.
After the meeting, a gift exchange was held and members brought in their favorite desserts to eat.

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO — The Miami Trace FFA held ITS annual consignment sale, managed by Nick Cummings of Schrader Auctions, Nov. 31.
Cummings, a graduate of Miami Trace FFA, was instrumental in connecting with the Miami Trace FFA Alumni in an effort to expand the potential of the traditional sale.
The sale was held at Fayette County Fairgrounds, and grossed over $640,000. Schrader Auctions committed 1 percent of the gross earnings to the Miami Trace FFA Alumni.
The Miami Trace FFA Alumni uses its proceeds to provide scholarships for Miami Trace FFA seniors, and also donate money so chapter members can attend FFA camp and Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. during the summer.
The alumni also help cover transportation costs for field trips.

BERLIN, Ohio — On Nov. 20, Hiland FFA members participated in the Sub-District 8 Parliamentary Procedure Contest, held at Ridgewood High School.
The Hiland Senior Team placed fourth overall. Members who participated were: Megan Hippert, Jessica Davis, Rachelle Yoder, Taylor Raber, Brandon Kozak, Grant Mast, Lee Shetler and Preston Shamp.

ASHLAND, Ohio — The Crestview FFA recently received a $10,000 grant from the Monsanto Farmers Grow Rural Education program. The check was presented Nov. 29 at Crestview’s first home basketball game.
With the grant money Crestview students will be able to use GPS, mobile iPad applications and devices and computer programs, to be able to monitor, collect data, and make data-driven decision on how to plan and implement more efficient and successful test plot programs.
Students will then be able to share their data with local farmers and agronomists, in an effort to implement more efficient crop production practices.
