TOLEDO, Ohio — The Center for Innovative Food Technology, in partnership with the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership is pleased to announce grant support for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
The grant money is available through regional affiliate CIFT, and is allocated for manufacturers in the northwest Ohio region interested in incorporating additive manufacturing, also known as 3-D printing.
The grant pays for 50 percent of one part or tool to be designed using additive manufacturing methods, up to $3,000 in matching funds.
Additive manufacturing reduces product development time, waste and tooling costs — allowing engineers and designers to extend their capabilities in the creation of highly complex products and parts.
With recent advancements in polymers and metals, additive manufacturing is giving small and medium-sized manufacturers the ability to design well beyond traditional manufacturing limitations.
