BERLIN CENTER, Ohio — The following Western Reserve Rangers 4-H Club members were recognized by Karen and Bob Day for being selected to represent Mahoning County at the Ohio State Fair: Sydni Francis for “Nail It Together,” Richie Hedrick for “Keeping Fit,” Natalia Kresic and Emma Reph for “You Can Quilt,” Thomas Collier for “Crank It Up, Small Engines,” Olivia Reph for “Baking Quick Breads,” and Emma Reph for “Star Spangled Foods.”
Special guest for the evening was State 4-H Fashion Board member and Ranger 4-H Club Alumna Emily Smith. She shared information about the Ohio State Fair style revue and said the State Fashion Board is working on the theme “4-H Clothing Is Out Of This World.”
Adviser Jan Moser reminded the youth with large animals that a doctor from Lisbon Vet Clinic will be doing health checks Aug. 11.
Robin and Steve Reph advised the youth about their appearance and putting their best foot forward at the Canfield Fair. Rangers 4-H Club will meet again Aug. 11, at the Ellsworth Fire Hall at 7 p.m. Members should bring a dessert or snack to share and be prepared to tell about their favorite 4-H Project for 2016.

CANFIELD, Ohio — The 4-H clubs of Columbiana County are ready for fair time and it’s just around the corner. Each of the Rough Rider 4-H members have projects of their own, whether it is archery, livestock, photography, etc. All of the members must do a demonstration of the safety and or care of their project. Each member has something unique and interesting to share about their projects. This can give them courage to stand in front of audiences and have experience for the future.
Also, the club is having a camping weekend the week after the Columbiana County Fair. The club project this year is archery. The last meeting before fair was held July 12.
