SALEM, Ohio – Katey Lora’s Holstein was champion of all dairy breeds at the 2003 Canfield Fair junior fair dairy show.
Reserve champion overall went to a Jersey shown by Rachel Boyce.
Forty-four 4-H members showed 125 cattle in this year’s show.
Showmanship. Emily Bennett took showman of showmen honors. She also won the intermediate age division.
Heidi Moff took junior showman honors, and Brian Moff won the senior category.
Other top-finishing showmen were Kara Birkhimer and Kayla Schindler, junior; Chad Raber and Elizabeth Moff, intermediate; and Kealie Citino and Kyle Birkhimer, senior.
Jerseys. In the Jersey breed show, Rachel Boyce claimed junior champion, senior champion and grand champion honors.
Billy Grammer showed the reserve junior champion, and Emily Bennett showed the reserve senior champion and overall reserve grand champion.
Other breeds. Kayla Schindler claimed all top spots in the Ayrshire breed division, including junior and senior champions and overall grand and reserve champion banners.
Levi Schlegel took junior champion, senior and reserve senior, and overall grand and reserve grand champion honors in the Milking Shorthorn show.
Holstein. Katey Lora took grand champion and Kealie Citino took reserve champion honors in the Holstein show.
Lora and Citino showed the senior and reserve senior champions, respectively.
Junior champion winner was Bryan Whinnery, and Holly Phillis took reserve junior champion honors.
Guernsey. Evan Dye’s senior champion was named overall grand champion in the Guernsey show.
Reserve champion was Kayla Schindler’s junior champion. Megan Wyss showed the reserve junior champion.
Brown Swiss. In Brown Swiss competition, Faelynn Hegedus showed the grand champion and the senior champion.
Kyle Danner took reserve grand champion honors with his reserve senior champion.
Other breed winners were Kari Stoller, junior champion; and Danner, reserve junior champion.
