Guernsey County pasture walks are a kind of a farm field day, where you see farming practices that have been implemented.
Learn something new
In some of these walks, attendees are asked for their suggestions concerning forage and grazing management as considerations for the host farm.
In all cases, visiting a working farm is a chance to learn something new. For me, it has always been helpful to see practices implemented on a farm then imagine how to implement the idea on another operation.
Attend a walk
Throughout the spring and summer there will be many opportunities to visit farming operations around the state at pasture walks. Experience is a great teacher and what better way to learn than firsthand.
On May 19, there will be a pasture walk held in Guernsey County. For more information contact Jason Tyrell at the Guernsey SWCD office, 740-489-5276.
