Where can children get their hands dirty and have good, clean fun? At the Children’s Vegetable Gardening Program, that’s where! On Saturday, October 24, 2015 beginning at 1 p.m. in the library’s Quaker Room, Lynn Zocolo, Horticulture Educator at Mill Creek MetroParks, will share her knowledge and enthusiasm about the program. Celebrating 23 years of growing gardeners, vegetables and smiles, Veggie Gardens, as it is called, continues to be a busy summer place of planting, harvesting and gardening activities.
Learn about the unique gardening program for children who have completed second grade. Basic gardening skills are taught throughout a summer that is filled with fun horticultural activities, cooking and their very own Veggie Gardens Olympics.
Registration for this program that is open to the public, family friendly and free of cost to attend is requested online at www.salem.lib.oh.us. For more information and registration assistance contact the library at 330-332-0042.
