Ladies, grab your duffle and get ready for a rocking weekend in the outdoors; all without the extra baggage that is often referred to as the male of the species.
That’s right, this one is for ladies only and designed for the woman who wants to learn how, when, and where to add extra enjoyment to her outdoor experiences.
Outdoor women
Interested women can register right now for a spot in Ohio’s next session of the nationally recognized program titled Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, a three day weekend learning experience during which participants will be exposed to the skills of shooting, kayaking, outdoor photography, hunting, archery, fishing, and much more.
Sessions of Becoming an Outdoors-Woman have been held for several years and have always met the goals of active and curious women. The popularity of the program can be attributed to the hands-on learning opportunities that fill the weekend.

Concealed carry
Who would have guessed that the interest in carrying a concealed weapon would sky rocket like it has in the last few years. Apparently people of walks of life see value in protecting themselves from criminals and personal harm.
Indeed, the dynamic increase in handgun sales have outpaced anything like it in the past and there’s no slowdown in sight.
Politicians use the sale of handguns as fodder for political name calling but when it comes right down to it, Americans want to feel safe and fortunately have the right to provide their own protection.
Survey says
Garnished from educational quality survey results done by the Crime Prevention Research Center founded by its CEO John Lott and recently published by him, come the following numbers:
In 2007 there were 4.6 handgun permit holders nationally. Now there are 12.8 million. Across the country, 5.2 percent of citizens now hold permits.
In five states, 10% of the residents are permit holders and most certainly a large percentage of them carry a sidearm at certain times. In ten states, a permit is no longer required.
Since 2007, carry permits nationally have increased dramatically by 270% for women and by 156% for men. According to the survey source, in the same time period of rapidly increasing handgun ownership, violent crime has decreased significantly.
In fact, the states with the highest percentage per capita of handgun permit holders, have experienced the greatest drop in murder rates. Even better, permit holders have proven that they are overwhelmingly law abiding and responsible.
While these numbers can be challenged by opponents to handgun carry permits it becomes quite apparent that the interest in owning and carrying personal firearms is a growing trend and it appears that the trend will continue regardless of the political party in charge.
