SALEM, Ohio — Caroline Cobourn Schnurrenberger, 93, of Salem, died 2 a.m., Aug. 11, 2015, at the Courtyard on Lexington Avenue.
She was born Dec. 13, 1921, in North Bloomfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest V. and Florence Eyrich. She was a resident in the Salem area most of her life.
She was a 1939 graduate of Greenford High School, and a longtime member of the Greenford Christian Church and its Coroner Stone group.
A member of the King Road Queens Club, Columbiana County Home Extension, she was also a 4-H club adviser for the Fairfield Cloverleaves. Mrs. Schnurrenberger was active with the Salem Christian Women’s Club and served on its board. A member of TOPPS #1598, she organized the Country Garden Club in Columbiana, Ohio.
She had been employed at Crestview School in the cafeteria for 20 years.
She is survived by her children, Sandee Beiling of Columbiana, Ohio; Vicki Knizat of Winona, Ohio; and Allen Cobourn of Greenford, Ohio; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis Smith of Salem, Ohio; Walter “Bud” Eyrich of Bowie, Arizona; Marty Votaw of Greenford, Ohio; and a brother-in-law Walter Makoski of Poland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Burtt J. Cobourn, whom she married July 2, 1941, and who preceded her in death March 16, 1970, and Wilbur D. Schnurrenberger, whom she married May 19, 1972, and who preceded her in death March 12, 2000, and a sister, Lois Makoski.
A celebration of life service will be held Aug. 29, 11 a.m. at the Greenford Christian Church. The Rev. John Bush will be officiating the services and burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
