A market hog was raised by the 4-H Beef Breeding Club with the proceeds to benefit the Disabled American Veterans of Butler County. Amerikohl Mining paid $5.25 a pound for the 287-pound hog. With additional donations from other individuals, the total raised for the veterans’ group was $3,056.75, and sale attendees were also encouraged to make donations in a jar on the clerk’s table.
