NORTH CANTON, Ohio — On June 22 the Champion Event Center in North Canton, Ohio, was filled with not only the musical auction chant of Kiko Auctioneers, but it was joined by the strumming and plucking of musical instruments that were being auctioned off at the first Kiko auction to feature musical instruments and equipment exclusively.
Jack Kiko, third generation Kiko auctioneer, and Bruce Peoples, professional musician and musical instrument curator, teamed up to put together this unique auction dedicated to musicians and musical instrument collectors.
Items were offered at the auction live and online with pre-bidding and live during the auction, opening the auction up to not only those local in Ohio, but to the world.
Highlights of the auction included a 1950 Martin D-18 that sold for $4,620; 1948 Gibson L-7 that sold for $2,160; Dawson & Dublin Harp, which was in need of restoration, $840; and a King silver tone trumpet $605.
“We had interest from all over the United States and all over the world,” Kiko said. “We shipped several instruments internationally to winning bidders.”
