Genealogy Program Planned at Salem Public Library

Pamela L Speis, Archivist at Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present the program “Keeping Your Family’s Past” on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6:30-7:30pm in the library’s Quaker Room located at 821 E. State St., Salem, OH. The presentation will provide discussion and advice on the proper care and preservation of photographic formats, manuscripts and ephemera that make up a family’s history. The talk covers how to listen to a family heirloom or item, what the item can tell you and how to care for the item for future generations.
Ms. Speis received her Master’s Degree in History from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has been Archivist at the Historical Society since 1989.
