A SURE CURE
There are many things through out life that change with the passing of time. The other day I was watching a television program about trucks and automobiles. I was amazed just how much trucks and cars have changed since their invention. The body style, along with the horsepower, has made a complete turnaround.
Get out an old picture album sometime and look at the style of dress and hair and you will be amazed at the changes that have taken place.
I could mention many more changes however; I would like to dwell on a word that, if used properly, as a way of life never changes. The word is “kindness.”
“Every moment is the right one to be kind” -Anonymous
Can you imagine the change that would take place if we could see more kindness in our world today? I have often thought about what my parents and grandparents said about the Depression days. They often told about how people pulled together and shared their kindness and concerns.
I recently found the following poem that says it very well:
Kind hearts are the garden
Kind thoughts are the roots
Kind words are the flowers
Kind deeds are the fruits.

I do not know about you but I would much rather be around people who are kind than those who are the opposite. Kindness attracts people and unkindness keeps them away.
Have you ever visited a church and no one took time to welcome you or your family with a kind word or a warm handshake? How did it make you feel? If you are like most people you have no desire to attend again.
On the other hand, how do you feel when you visit and people go out of their way to welcome you with kindness? You feel completely different and you welcome the opportunity to go back. What made the difference? The answer is all about kindness.
Jesus is the true example of kindness. If we really want to be like Jesus then we must be kind to one another. The Bible says in Romans 12:10, “Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another.”
THINK ABOUT IT!
