What does your church mean to you? Take a few moments and Think About it!, then write down your answer on a piece of paper. After you have listed all the things you like about your church, make another list of the things you dislike about your church.
Read them over carefully and then count them. Which list is the longest? I hope it is the first one.
Now ask yourself this question of list number one, how can I share with my family, friends and others the things I like about my church? Now look at the second list and ask yourself this question, how can I change this list to improve the things I dislike?
Add both these lists to your prayer list and make them a serious matter of prayer.
Remember, prayer changes things. Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18.
My church is a place where the Word of God is shared with people from all areas of life. It is a place of love and understanding where I can come and worship God with others. It is a place I can find spiritual food for the growth of my soul.
“Other foundations can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” I Cor. 3:11.
“Christ…loved the church and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish” Ephesians 5:25b-27.
Is your church important enough to you to share its message with others? Do you attend it faithfully and support it with your tithes and offerings? God is depending on His people to keep the ministry of His church going forward and reaching lost people around the world. Are you committed to God and His church?
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” I Cor. 4:2.
