ALLIANCE, Ohio — Richard F. Myers, 92, passed away Feb. 13, 2015, following a brief illness at his home in Winter Haven, Florida.
Richard was born on May 26, 1922, to Paul and Verna (Farmer) Myers.
He was a birth-rite member of East Goshen Friends Church. He graduated from Sebring High School in 1940.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942.
In 1945, he joined the family business, Myers Equipment Corporation. Richard and his brother, David, formed Myers Brothers Farms in 1949.
Survivors include his wife, Lois (Everett) Myers; daughter, Candiss Myers Fites; son, Richard L. Myers; granddaughter; great-grandson; sister, Violet Schoeni; and brother, David Myers.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Mary Jane Spencer.
A memorial service will be held at University of Mount Union, DeWald Chapel, Myers Sanctuary, at 11 a.m. March 13.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. March 12 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at DeWald Chapel, Myers Sanctuary.
