Drone permits have been granted by the Federal Aviation Administration to the agriculture and real estate sectors, according to Time.
Advanced Aviation Solutions of Spokane, Washington, was granted a permit for crop scouting. Tierra Antigua Realty of Tucson, Arizona, was issued a permit in order to obtain enhanced aerial images of buildings. Previously, only 11 other companies have received drone permits.
Both drone permits require an operator, or “pilot,” controlling the drones as well as an observer. The operators must keep the drones in their sight while they are in use.
