CARROLLTON, Ohio — Neither the 6 inches of snow nor high water road closings could keep Holstein breeders from traveling to sunny southwest Ohio to attend the Ohio Holstein Association annual meeting and convention held March 11-12 in Wilmington, Ohio.

Sale results. Prior to the start of the convention, the hosting District 15 Holstein Club held the Mideast Impact Sale, featuring approximately 90 registered Holstein consignments.

Topping the sale at $20,000 was Ka-Geo Knckt Rose-Red-ET, consigned by Gabby Gabriel and Natalie Woodcock, Stanford, Ky. She was the Reserve All American Red and White Fall Yearling in 2010 and was due July 11, 2011 to Scientific SS Deuce with an ultrasound heifer.

The sale averaged $3,118, with cattle selling to eight states.
