CANTON, Ohio – The 11th annual Antiques In Canton Show and Sale will be hosted by the Museum Guild of the Canton Museum of Art on March 10 and March 11.
Thirty-five dealers will display their antiques in room like settings. A designer booth will feature the show’s finest antiques. Nancy Kalin of Nancy Kalin Antique Interiors and Gus Knapp of Hudson serve as show consultants. Hours are Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $5. Parking is free.
Preview party.
A preview party will be held on March 9 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy an array of gourmet fare while browsing and buying in the antique showrooms. A $300 antique shopping spree with Nancy Kalin will be raffled at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for this special event. A museum guild cookbook will be included in this year’s show program. The cookbook will feature celebrated preview party and early American recipes. On Saturday and Sunday, American Revolutionary cuisine will be served in the show cafe by museum guild volunteers dressed in period clothing. The theme menu will include hearty beef stew, assorted muffins with honey butter, smoked turkey sandwich with cranberry chutney, assorted fruit pies, corn chowder, chicken pot pie with mixed greens and Boston brown bread with cream cheese.
Featured antiques.
Highlighted in the antique show will be country and primitive furniture and accessories from 17th century to 19th century textiles, country smalls, brass, paintings, English Staffordshire and porcelain, period and antique jewelry, lamps, Chesapeake Bay decoys, boat and ship models, Oriental rugs, quilts and samplers, maritime artifacts, art and instruments, Pre-Victorian formal furniture, wire and iron garden furniture, stoneware, yellow ware, ironware, pewter, folk art, baskets and Pittsburgh glass.
Proceeds from the Antiques In Canton Show and Sale will provide funds for the museum’s general operations and underwrites special exhibits and projects.
